#1 You’re my little pumpkin

Pumpkins are widely used for Halloween decoration in other countries. Even in the Netherlands, you encounter this more and more often. How fun is it to cut out the funniest or maybe even scariest faces from the pumpkin together? This way, you have a cozy lamp & a fun crafting afternoon. Plus, for the foodies among us, a delicious pumpkin soup. Win, win right?!

Here’s what you need:
Pumpkin (preferably a large one), knife, spoon or melon scoop, pen or marker & tea lights

How it works:
We start with a task where the children have to wait a little, the cutting and hollowing out of the pumpkin. Is the pumpkin completely empty? Great, then the fun work can begin! Let the kids draw a funny mouth and eyes on the pumpkin, anything goes! Then, as the babysitter, you can cut out the drawings. Don’t forget to put on the hat and go outside. Does it get dark? Put a few tea lights in the belly of the pumpkin. When the pumpkin is lit, it looks even more fun.

Hedgehog of Leaves

Leaves are unmistakable during autumn. Take the kids into the forest to collect as many different leaves as possible for the next craft tip. The more, the better.

Requirements:
Leaves, paper, craft glue & a marker

How it works:
Draw the head of the hedgehog with a marker on the paper. The rest of the body can be created by covering it with the most beautiful leaves. Tip: is the hedgehog still a bit bare? Layer multiple leaves on top of each other. Make sure part of the leaf is loose from the paper to create a sort of 3D effect. And voila, the hedgehog is done!

Chestnut Figures

Besides leaves, there are also many other things to find during autumn. Chestnuts, acorns, and plenty of beautiful twigs. With just a few supplies, you can create a cheerful figure. Let your creativity run wild, and the kids will surely love it!

Supplies:
Chestnuts, acorns, twigs, satay skewers, craft glue, needle & scissors

How does it work?
Well, you don’t really need a step-by-step plan to put together such a figure yourself. Let your imagination run wild and come up with the funkiest combinations of the different materials. Just be careful not to slip when making a hole in the chestnut with a needle or scissors. Enjoy!
