Meet Angel ... Kirsten!

Her best babysitting moments

Kirsten (28) flies around the world as a flight attendant. On a flight from Amsterdam to Bangkok, she met Babysitting Angel Sophie. Not much later, Kirsten decided to become a Babysitting Angel too and, in between flights, Kirsten now babysits the cutest kids. Get to know Kirsten's story!

I love the variety of traveling and babysitting! I have always loved children. Because I am able to plan myself when I babysit, I can perfectly combine it with my passion for travel.

I always love babysitting! Children are so incredibly honest and sweet, but, of course, they can also be naughty from time to time. You can never predict exactly how a day will go. One day, you're building tree houses in the forest. The next, you're playing memory or colouring. After a whole day of colouring, I can sometimes no longer stand the sight of a marker. But, when I've been traveling, I secretly can't wait to start colouring with the kids again.

Just talking to children is always so much fun. They come up with questions that often make you think twice about how to answer them. Everything is possible in their view, for example, becoming a star athlete or a hero (superman). It is so incredibly beautiful when you view the world that way.

The most special moment I experienced while babysitting was with Fleur. Her goldfish died last summer, eaten by the neighbour's cat. Fleur had just attended her grandmother's funeral and now also wanted to have a funeral for her fish. With music, and all the trimmings; even a cake. So, it was a funeral with K3, speeches, coffee and cake, and a dead goldfish in a box. Looking back, it still makes me laugh, and it was incredibly sweet of Fleur.

Make every babysitting day fun!

I always make babysitting fun. It turns into a great day, where I can earn some extra money, and give the kids a fantastic day. For example, I always bring a "nanny bag" with fun games, colouring books, baking supplies to make cookies or cake, and other fun things. Children always love the bag, and they will have fun for hours.
